JMU CARE Grant-Tracking

As part of a semester-long interdisciplinary capstone, I collaborated with a team of CIS and Media Arts and Design majors to design and develop a grant tracking system for the Center for Advancement of Research in Education (CARE). Our goal was to transform CARE’s outdated workflow—previously managed through emails and spreadsheets—into a streamlined, centralized platform.

I led UX design and research, developing personas, journey maps, user stories, wireframes, and conducting usability testing to ensure an intuitive user experience. I also contributed to front-end development and acted as a consultant, meeting weekly—and often multiple times a week—with the CARE center director to gather feedback, align on goals, and ensure the system met real-world needs. This project strengthened my UX skillset and gave me valuable experience working with cross-functional teams and a live client to deliver an impactful solution.
